1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit juliacalfee.com (the "Website").

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable to visitors from the European Economic Area, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process

2.1 Server log data

When you visit the Website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information in server logs: your IP address, date and time of access, pages visited, browser type and version, operating system, and the referring website. This data is required to deliver the Website reliably and securely, and to detect and prevent misuse. Log data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted after retention period.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

2.2 Web analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, duration of visit). IP addresses are masked and discarded before storage. This information helps us improve the Website; it is not used to identify individual visitors.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, with possible data transfers to Google LLC in the United States. Such transfers are safeguarded under the Swiss–U.S. and EU–U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks and/or standard contractual clauses.

Legal basis: your consent where required (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), otherwise our legitimate interest in analyzing and improving the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to analytics at any time — see Section 5.

2.3 Embedded Vimeo content

Video and audio works on this Website are embedded via Vimeo in its privacy-enhanced "Do Not Track" mode, which instructs Vimeo not to track your viewing activity or set advertising cookies. When you load or play an embedded work, your browser nevertheless connects to Vimeo's servers, and Vimeo receives your IP address and technical browser information as necessary to deliver the content.

The provider is Vimeo Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001, USA. Data transfers to the USA are safeguarded by standard contractual clauses and Vimeo's participation in applicable data-transfer frameworks. For details, see Vimeo's own privacy policy at vimeo.com/privacy.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in presenting audiovisual works on the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

2.4 Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (name, email address, content of your message) solely to handle your enquiry. This data is kept only as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Legal basis: performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Cookies

The Website uses only the cookies that are technically necessary for its operation and, if you consent, analytics cookies as described in Section 2.2. You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; blocking cookies may limit some functions of the Website.

4. Disclosure and international transfers

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties, except with the service providers named in this Policy (hosting, analytics, Vimeo) who process data on our behalf or under their own responsibility, or where disclosure is required by law. Where data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure an adequate level of protection through recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

5. Your rights

Subject to the conditions of applicable law, you have the right to:

  • request information about the personal data we hold about you (access);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted (erasure);
  • restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive the data you provided in a portable format (data portability);
  • withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including TLS encryption of the connection to the Website, to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the Website or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
